My first sewing project after a 6 year break. I made a reversible table runner with 2 dishcloths as a gift for someone.... not perfect, but decent for my first time in 6 years. :)

After 6 years, the sewing machine has once again made it's appearance.

We tried to replicate a favorite slider recipe of ours tonight. Turned out very good! :) These sliders are are favorites at Firefly Tapas Bar here in Vegas. I think the secret is the fried onion strips and the chorizo, onion, and cheese we mixed in the meat. Yum!

Aspen is so cute. I threw our throw pillows on the floor last night and he burrowed his way in the middle of all of them and promptly started snoring. haha

I think Vegas has sunsets that rival New Mexico! When we lived in NM, I used to love the mountains and the sunrises & sunsets. It's just as great here in Vegas....

Look closely.... see that blur to the bottom left of our hummingbird feeder? It's a hummingbird! haha That's as close as I could get without frightening it away. Happy to see a hummingbird using our feeder. I also this past week, hung out a bird feeder and the birds love it! They've already eaten almost all the seeds and about 6 or so fly away every time I open the back door. :) (You have to look close to see the bird at the bird feeder, too...)

California is so strict with their fruit laws- we had to stop at an inspection station along the way!

We went to Big Bear Lake, California for the weekend with some good friends. It's about a 4 hour drive from Las Vegas and up in the mountains, so it was so much cooler- in the 70's. Well, actually, we saw on the news that this past weekend (of all weekends!) Vegas had a "cool front" and the temps were in the 80's! Oh well! :)
