Today we went to see my other set of grandparents and my great aunt. Then we headed back to Las Vegas.

Every year (for 3 years now) my family does a beer taste testing over the holidays. We sample 6 or so beers and rate them as to our most and least favorites. Here were this years contenders....

And this year we enjoyed them by the fire pit outside.

In case you're wondering - the Landshark and Hoegaarden were tied for first place!

Happy Christmas Eve! We went to church with the hubby's family tonight and when we got home, our niece wanted to dress me up as Mary.... :)

We arrived in Texas today and spent the day with the hubby's family. We went to visit their next door neighbor and he has a special kind of chicken that lays colored eggs! Sometimes the eggs can be blue, red, etc. Today we got to see brown, green, and turquoise. It is so neat. The type of chicken he said is an Americano.

This one is a little out of order, but I didn't actually take a photo today. We flew to Texas today, so I am just posting one of Luke with his Christmas cookie that was in his stocking. :)

We had some rosemary infused olive oil left over so today we decided to add in some crushed red pepper for ourselves. Cannot wait to try it with french bread. Yum!

We've been letting the fresh rosemary infuse in the olive oil for about a week now. We tasted it this morning and tastes great! :)

People in our neighborhood get creative with the holiday decorating. It's kind of hard to see, but the bush is decorated with ornaments and then the "present" is some sort of utility box. Pretty creative if you ask me! :)

I made a reversible Christmas table runner today. Who knew that the fabric stores start selling Christmas fabric in June?!? That's why the selection was so minimal I found out. Anyway, I'm not in love with the fabric I was left to choose from, but it'll do! :)

The dog was just hanging out in my closet (ignore the mess!). This just struck me as funny since he's never done that before. Just hanging out amongst my clothes and shoes. haha

I love all the holiday decorations everywhere. That along with the much colder temps really gets me in the holiday spirit.

So..... who knew that I had TONS of fresh rosemary growing in my backyard. I had no idea these bushes were rosemary. Now that I know, I will definitely use it to cook with.... some of you may even get rosemary infused olive oil as a Christmas gift! :)

Anyway, my mother-in-law used to own a flower store and she noticed these bushes when she was out here for Thanksgiving. Yay! :)

Nov. 30th

Last night the wives got together for our monthly "coffee" (reason to hang out). We did an ornament exchange and this was the one I got- I love it! :)

Beautiful Fall trees I saw while out walking today. This was a treat since not too many trees in Vegas actually change colors or lose their leaves.

We went to a tree farm today to get a Christmas tree- it's the first "real" one we've bought. It smells so good in the house.

We took the hubby's parents up to Mt. Charleston to eat breakfast. It is hard to believe there are mountains and snow just 20 minutes from the Las Vegas Valley.

Broken kitchen faucet in the middle of cooking & cleaning! Luckily the hubby is very handy around the house and came up with a quick fix. :)

Our first ever time to make a turkey and it turned out great!
